Hate, Power, and the Lessons of History

Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in the world but has not solved one yet.

Hate derives from evil. The concept of evil is universal, ancient, and ever present today. The biblical book of Genesis clearly defines it when Cain kills his brother Abel out of jealousy. As long as human beings have walked, evil has been close by.
Hate is not an emotion, but a learned response fueled by fear, anger, and stress. It flourishes on division, misinformation, and social conditioning. Hate can be exploited by individuals or groups (think politicians) to manipulate others for power. It corrupts moral judgment, motivating individuals to commit acts they might otherwise avoid.
History reports about many who were evil and full of hate -Genghis Khan, Caligula, Henry VIII, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, The Ayatollah Khomeini, Putin, The Mexican drug cartels, Castro, Chavez, and Islamic Jahidi’s- just to name a few. When people think about Socialism, Fascism, and Communism it sounds so good – we will all have equal outcomes. When, in fact, the next step is always Totalitarianism.
The current US Counterterrorism Chief Dr. Sebastion Gorka (whose father spent six years in a Communist prison in Hungary where he was tortured the first two years) mentioned a study named The Black Book of Communism authored by a French Left Wing historian group. They actually tallied the number of people killed worldwide by Communism in the last century – total killed 110 million people.
The Islamic Jihadis have been plotting and attempting to control the world for close to 1900 years. The IRGC in Iran truly believe they are doing their own God’s work. Jihad is the promise of being relieved of all your sins and going to a wonderful after life in heaven if you die fighting for Islam. BTW, a little kidnapping and rape along the way is considered a bonus.
Now you are probably wondering why this discussion has anything to do with making the study of economics simplistic. I will continue to tie it together in the next few postings on this website. Here is a little hint:
